Saturday afternoon in Gainesville, the Florida Gators host the Troy Trojans in the second game of their quest for back-to-back national titles. Last week against Charleston Southern, the Gators pounded the Buccaneers 62-3.
Look for much of the same against the Trojans this week as Tim Tebow and the rest of the No. 1 ranked Gators take on another inferior opponent.
As front-runners to repeat as National Champs, the Gators are once again heavy favorites as NCAA odds makers have Florida at -37 with the total in the game sitting at 60.
A week ago, Tebow completed 10 of 15 passes for 188 yards and a touchdown. The 2007 Heisman Trophy winner also ran for a score before, he and most of the Gators first teamers rested in the second half.
The team racked up 624 yards of offense.
The Trojans opened this year with last Thursday's 31-14 loss to Bowling Green. Troy has not won against a ranked opponent beating Missouri 24-14 in 2004, that's eight straight losses.
The last time these two teams met was in 2007 when the Gators beat Troy 59-31. Tebow completed 18 of 25 passes for 236 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for 93 yards and two scores.
There is not really any question as to whether or not the Florida Gators will come out on top in this one. It's just whether the Trojans can keep it within the 38 points. I think they will. The Florida defense gave up over 300 yards against Charleston Southern and that may prove to be an area of concern for the Gators.
Take Troy getting the 38 points.
