Thursday night in Atlanta, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets host the Clemson Tigers in this week two ACC Conference match-up.
Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson was not as fire-up with the Yellow Jackets' effort in winning their season debut last week and with conference play beginning and Tech hoping to contend for a title, there is not that much time to correct much.
NCAA odds makers are calling Georgia Tech a 5 point favorite as the Tigers come into town. The total in the game is sitting at 44.
Last week, Georgia Tech fumbled five times and dropped several passes against Jacksonville State, leading Johnson to question the team's mental toughness. "We have a little problem with killer instinct and our intensity levels and playing hard," Johnson said. "That is something we have to work on."
Clemson comes to Bobby Dodd Stadium after defeating Middle Tennessee 37-14 in its opener Saturday.
The Tigers expect to have C.J. Spiller in the line-up after he tweaked his hamstring on a 50-yard punt return to start the second quarter last week. Spiller also opened the game will a spectacular 96-yard kickoff return. He did not play in the second half.
"I'm fine," said Spiller after the game. "We've got such a short turnaround, they'd rather have me fresh for next week."
Georgia Tech has won four of the last five meetings with Clemson. They defeated the Tigers last season on a late touchdown pass from Josh Nesbitt to Demaryius Thomas.
The Yellow Jackets should come out on top of this one as well. Take Georgia Tech and give the 5 points.
