Oklahoma Sooners
Oklahoma Sooners
Saturday evening when the Oklahoma Sooners take on the BYU Cougars at a neutral site in Texas, it will mark the first college football game being played at the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.

It is definitely not uncommon for the Sooners to be considered one of the nations best as they come in with a preseason number 3 ranking. However, the BYU Cougars are also getting noticed as they have been ranked 20th in the country.

NCAA odds makers are calling the Sooners heavy favorites heading into this one. Oklahoma is at -22.5 with the total in the game sitting at 64 points.

The Sooners were 12-2 a season ago, falling to the Florida Gators 24-14 in the BCS National Championship game. Quarterback Sam Bradford returns to Oklahoma after throwing for over 4,700 yards, 50 touchdowns to just 8 interceptions in
2008. He beat out Texas' Colt McCoy and Florida's Tim Tebow for his first Heisman Trophy.

The Cougars and star quarterback Max Hall have beefed up their non-conference schedule with this match-up with Oklahoma and a home game against No. 18 Florida State on September 19th. The tougher schedule as they head into Mountain West play could be BYU's best chance to play for a national title despite being part of a non-BCS conference.

"I'm very excited about this football team. I think we're going to win a lot of games," Hall said. "I'm as focused as I've ever been in my life on the game right now. This is the most prepared team I've ever been associated with."

BYU has some lofty expectations for the 2009 season, but look for their success to start mounting on Saturday. Bradford and the Sooners offense should roll through the Cougars.

Take Oklahoma and give the 22.5.
