Tampa Bay Buccaneers Friday night in Tampa Bay, the Houston Texans face-off with the Buccaneers in Raymond James Stadium in each teams final preseason game.
The Buccaneers have named Byron Leftwich as their starting quarterback for the regular season, choosing the former first-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars over Luke McCown.
The Texans are without their starter, Matt Schaub, for the remainder of the preseason, but expect him back for opening day.
NFL odds makers are calling the Bucs 3 point home favorites with the total sitting at 33.
Schaub played through the discomfort against Green Bay and though he may sit out the final preseason game, all indications at this point are that he will be good to go for Week 1. Second year back Steve Stanton has looked good early and should continue to lighten
So far this preseason, the Bucs have been anemic on offense, averaging just 291.0 yards per game. They are ranked 22nd in the league. Tampa Bay is averaging 141.3 yards rushing and 149.7 yards passing. They are 0-1 at home this season, and 1-2 against AFC opponents. At home the Buccaneers are averaging 6.0 scoring, and holding teams to 10.0 points scored on defense.
Not a good combination for winning.
With this being the final preseason game, starter will not be play much, if they even play at all. The fourth preseason game is always interesting to watch, even though most of the players will be on the bench during the season. However, it will not lack intensity as these guy fight for jobs.
Anything could happen, so I will be expecting more scoring than many would think.
Take the over 33 points in this one.
