Oregon Ducks
Oregon Ducks
Thursday night Boise, the 16th ranked Oregon Ducks come into town to face-off against the 14th ranked Boise State Broncos on the imposing blue turf of Bronco Stadium in what should be a very good Top 25 opening game match-up.

Both of these teams feel that they could make some noise in the BCS if they can take an undefeated record deep into the season. This game will not be short on intensity.

NCAA odds maker are calling the Boise State Broncos a 3.5 point home favorite with the total in the game sitting at 64. Obviously prognosticators expect a lot of scoring in this one.

Oregon emerged as a regular contender in the Pac-10 as well as on the national scene some 14 years ago when coach Mike Bellotti came onto the scene in Eugene, finishing as high as No. 2 in 2001. Now Chip Kelly will be making the transition from coordinator to
head coach and the Ducks will be furiously trying to win in his debut.

The Broncos return 12 starters, six on offense and six on defense. That is enough to make them the favorite to win their seventh WAC title in the last eight years. Coach Chris Petersen, who was a receivers coach at Oregon from 1995-2000, needs his team to just concentrate on the Ducks.

"You win enough they're going to pay attention to you," said Petersen. "You step out of your conference and play teams like that and you can get something done, you'll make more of a statement, without question."

There will be a lot of talent on both side of that blue field tonight in Boise. Idaho will be rockin'. The winner of this game may just be the last team to have the ball. I like the Duck's to come out on top on the road and make a statement to Pac-10 teams watching from their dorm rooms.

Take Oregon getting the 3.5 points.
