Texans vs Vikings In the 2009 NFL season the Minnesota Vikings and the Houston Texans will be two teams looking to take things to the next level.
After two consecutive 8-8 seasons in 2007 and 2008, the Texans appear to have all the pieces in place to make a push toward the post season. Houston quarterback Matt Schaub has looked terrific in the preseason with a 111.4 passer rating and he has arguably one of the best wide-outs in the game in Andre Johnson.
For tonight's Monday Night Football match-up with the Vikings, NFL odds makers are calling the Texans a 3 point favorite with the total in the game sitting at 38.5.
Vikings quarterback Brett Favre has now had some time to practice with his new team after looking a bit rusty in his first game with Minnesota. Favre is expected to play the entire first have with the starting offense
"That was not a great start to the year last week, but yet what did you expect," Favre said. "Believe me, I was 1-for-4, but I would have loved to be 4-for-4."
With the starters for both teams getting the bulk of the playing time, tonight will be good test for the Vikings to see how Favre's comeback is really coming along. There may be some growing pains as Favre gets to know his teammates, but as he gets more and more time with them, he should be fine.
Even if Favre struggles, the Minnesota defense should keep it close. Once the starters hit the bench, the Vikings depth should help them pull away.
Take the Vikings getting the 3 points.
