Dallas Cowboys
Dallas Cowboys
Saturday night at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys will both be looking to continue on the road back to dominance in the NFC. At one one, there was not a bigger rivalry in the NFL then Dallas vs San Francisco. Over an eight year span in the late 80's and early 90's the 49ers and the Cowboys combined for a total of five Super Bowl Championship.

The Cowboys may be a little closer to their goal than the Niners, however, coach Mike Singletary has San Francisco on the right track heading into the 2009 season.

For tonight's game in Dallas, NFL odds makers have the Cowboys as -7 point home favorites with the total in the game sitting at 38.

Last week in their 30-10 win against the Tennessee Titans, Dallas quarterback Tony Romo looked solid throwing the football, going 18 of 24 for 192 yards. Running back Felix Jones had a
rushing touchdown and also had two receptions for 47 yards. The Cowboys will be with newly anointed number one wide receiver Roy Williams.

He will miss the rest of the preseason with a bruised shoulder that he suffered during practice earlier this week.

The 49ers defeated Oakland 21-20 last week. Starting quarterback, Shaun Hill, is recovering from a strained back, but will play Saturday. Hill was just 3 of 7 passing for 20 yards last week while Alex Smith was not any better, going 3 for 9 for 30 yards.

The Niners looked good running the ball with rookie tail back Glenn Coffee. The first year back out of Alabama ran for 129 yards on 16 carries Running Michael Robinson also ran well, he racked up 97 yards on 14 carries.

Look for the 49ers to try to continue pounding the ball on the ground. This game should be closer than most think if San Francisco has a successful ground attack.

Take the 49ers getting the 7 points.
