Michael Strahan Former Pro Bowl defensive end Michael Strahan could be considering a return to the New York Giants for the 2008 season. In the wake of Osi Umenyiora's season-ending knee injury, the New York Daily News is reporting that Strahan, now a Fox Sports NFL Studio analyst could be returning to his former team.
According to a source close to Strahan, he would come back if the Giants offered him an 8 million dollar contract for the 2008 season. "If the Giants really want him they have a shot," the source said.
The 36 year old Strahan retired after helping lead the Giants to a Super Bowl championship in 2007. Strahan is the Giants all-time leader in sacks
Giants co-owner Steve Tisch told reporters that he would love to see Strahan in a Giants uniform in 2008. "Would I like Michael to be a New York Giant this season? Absolutely!" Tisch told the New York post. "Will he be? I have no idea."
While vacationing in Greece on Sunday, Strahan heard the news on Umenyiora's injury, and in an interview with the NFL network, Strahan would not confirm the possibility of returning to the Giants.
"I have not heard from anyone else, to say if I would or wouldn't is premature. I am just enjoying retired life right now."
