Miami Dolphins Odds With the 2009 NFL preseason in full swing, week three hits the ground running with an intriguing match-up between the Miami Dolphins and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium, in Tampa Florida.
The Dolphins are 2-0 with home wins against the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Carolina Panthers, while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 1-1 with a win at Jacksonville and a 27-20 loss at the Tennessee Titans.
Odds makers have the Buccaneers at -2.5 with the total in the game sitting at about 37.
The Miami offensive looked good last week against the Panthers, racking up 321 yards, including 180 through the air and another 141 on the ground. Chad Pennington was 8 of 11 for 105 yards and a touchdown and back-up Chad Henne completed 10 more passes for another 75 yards and a touchdown of his own. Neither quarterback threw and interception in the
Running back Ronnie Brown averaged 4.4 yards per carry on 7 attempts and look good handling the ball for the Fins.
The Buccaneers are looking to Byron Leftwich to be the starting quarterback when the season starts, however he struggles against his former team completing only 6 of 12 passes for just 63 yards last week against the Jags. Back-up Luke McCown threw for two scores and was 6 of 9. However, whomever win the starting job for the Bucs appears to be just keep the seat warm for rookie Josh Freeman.
With this game being aired nationally on FOX, sports books expect to see a lot of action coming in. Both teams will be playing their starters for much of this one and the Dolphins offense matches up well against a Tampa defense that is trying to find an identity in third game without Monte Kiffin as the coordinator.
Take the Dolphins getting the points, they should win this one out-right.
