Rams vs Falcons Friday night when the St Louis Rams host the Atlanta Falcons in this NFL preseason match-up, they will be looking to build on the momentum they were able to get rolling when they bet the New York Jets a week ago.
The Falcons will be trying to bounce back from a one point loss to the Detroit Lions from a week ago.
NFL odds makers are calling the Rams a home dog with the Falcons favored by 3 points. The total in the game is sitting at 37.
Thanks in large part to backup running back Samkon Gado's 93-yard, one touchdown performance in a 23-20 victory over the Jets last week, the Rams are 1-0 so far in preseason. Starting quarterback Marc Bulger is out. Journeyman Kyle Boller gets the start.
The Atlanta Falcons offense seem to start right where they left off in 2008.
Last week, they looked very good in the first half, taking a 10-3 lead over the Lions at the break. Quarterback Matt Ryan connected on five of his seven passes for 33 yards and star running back Michael Turner had six carries for 63 yards and a touchdown.
A year ago, the Falcon's defense was prone to give up big chucks of yardage. As of last week, was still having issues with stopping their opposition. The Lions racked up 263 through the air and 191 on the ground.
Although the Atlanta defense may be a little suspect, I like the Falcons in this one.
Take Atlanta and give the 3 points.
