Miami Dolphins
Miami Dolphins
As the Miami Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars head in their first game of the 2009 NFL preseason, both teams appear to be moving in different directions.

Last year the Miami Dolphins finished with an 11-5 record and a surprising AFC East Division title. The Jaguars were not nearly as successful as they struggled to a disappointing 5-11 record.

Odds makers are calling the Dolphins a 3 point home favorite with the total in the game sitting at 31.5.

The Dolphins will be looking to build on last years success with Chad Pennington as the starting quarterback, Miami will have to continue to make big plays around him. For Monday night, look for back-up Chad Henne to get most of the playing time. Henne has impressed the coaching staff in camp with his potential.

The
Dolphins could be looking at Henne as their quarterback of the future. If Miami struggles putting up point with Pennington calling the signals this year, look for head coach Tony Sparano to try and get Henne some much need experience in 2009.

For Jack Del Rio and the Jacksonville Jaguars, they will try to forget 2008.

They need starting quarterback David Garrard and running back Maurice Jones-Drew to had big years if the Jags are going to compete in 2009. In the off-season, the Jaguars let veteran tailback Fred Taylor go. Now Jones-Drew will try to carry the load in the Jacksonville rushing attack.

On Monday night, expect the Jags to play their starter for most, if not all, of the first quarter. Then we should see Todd Bouman and Paul Smith at quarterback. They will need to get Jacksonville in the end-zone to keep them within the 3 points.
