Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles surprised everyone last year by beating out the Dallas Cowboys for second place in the NFC East and securing a wild card spot in the playoffs. Now, after producing another quality offseason, the Eagles feel as though they are in prime position to make another run at the Super Bowl in 2009.

Prognosticators are optimistic about Philadelphia.

Odds makers are liking their chances as well. Vegas has established the Eagles' odds to win Super Bowl XLIV at 12/1. They've also given Philadelphia 6.5/1 odds to win the NFC and they sit at about 3/1 to win the NFC East.

In the offseason, the Eagles upgraded the offensive line in a big way by trading for former Bills' offensive tackle Jason Peters to anchor the left tackle position and protect quarterback Donovan McNabb's blindside. They also added
Stacy Andrews to play right guard. Stacy is the older brother of Eagles lineman Shawn Andrews. Shawn is expected to play right tackle.

Although a revamped offensive line could be unpredictable at times, one thing is for sure. Philadelphia definitely got younger and faster up front.

The biggest question mark for the 2009 Philadelphia Eagles is whether or not they 100% out of star running back Brian Westbrook.

Westbrook should miss most of the preseason as he recovers from an ankle injury. In the draft, the Eagles took Pittsburgh running back LeSean McCoy to take some of the pressure off their Pro-Bowl rusher. Assuming Westbrook will be healthy and ready to go in Week 1, there should be nothing stopping the Eagles from making it deep into the postseason.

In a extremely tough NFC East, the Philadelphia Eagles might be a nice sleeper pick heading into the 2009 season.
