Pittsburgh Panthers Wide Out Charged In Assault Case

Jonathan Baldwin Pittsburgh Panthers wide receiver, 19-year old Jonathan Baldwin has been charged with misdemeanor indecent assault, harassment and disorderly conduct stemming from an alleged incident involving a female student on a bus.
Baldwin led the Panthers with 22.4 yards per reception last season. In 2008, his freshman campaign, he hauled in 18 receptions, 404 yards and 3 touchdowns to help Pittsburgh to a 9-4 record, including a berth in the Sun Bowl against Oregon State.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Baldwin has a scheduled hearing in court on May 27th.
"The matter is currently under investigation," said Pittsburgh
Baldwin has not been the only Pitt wide out in trouble this off-season.
His brush with the law comes after fellow Pitt receiver T.J. Porter was dismissed from the football team following a Feb. 22 arrest. Porter was accused of driving under the influence in the February incident, the second time he has faced such charges during the past year.
Porter, a junior, caught 25 passed for 357 yards last season for Pittsburgh and had compiled over 700 yards in his career with the Panthers.
Pitt head coach Dave Wannstedt could not be reached for comment.
