Terrell Owens According to reports coming out of Dallas, the Cowboys have cut controversial wide-out Terrell Owens making him a free-agent. For months there have been rumors that T.O. would be expelled from Big D and now the speculation is over.
In recent weeks, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had come out publicly saying that he had not decided whether to keep or release Owens. Jones even struck down allegations that his son, Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones, was lobbying for Owens' release.
Over the years, Owens has proven to be one of the league's most dynamic talents. Over his 13 NFL seasons, T.O. has hauled in 951 passes for more than 14,000 yards and 139 touchdowns.
However, as productive as Owens has been against opposing defenses, he has been as equally destructive off the field,
In 2003, he insinuated in an interview with Playboy magazine that his then-quarterback, Jeff Garcia, was homosexual. He made headlines in Philadelphia he voiced his displeasure with quarterback Donovan McNabb and Eagles management. That out-burst led to a four-game suspension without pay and his eventual deactivation from the team.
In Dallas, Owens was reportedly jealous of Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo's relationship with tight end Jason Witten. Owens was thought to believe that Romo and Witten held private meetings and created plays without including him.
With his release from Dallas, the roller coaster ride that is Terrell Owens is far from over. Where Owens will play next is uncertain, but it would have to be a confident, mature team that could handle his temperamental personality.
