Buffalo Bills running back Marshawn Lynch was arrested this past week on a felony charge of possession of a concealed firearm. Lynch, 22, was arrested this past Wednesday night when Culver City police found a loaded gun in his car.

According to police, Lynch was arrested after officers confronted him and two other men in a car and found the loaded firearm belonging to Lynch.

"A subsequent field investigation led to the discovery of a loaded firearm," police said. "The officers determined the gun belonged to Lynch and he was arrested for possession of a concealed firearm."

After Lynch's arrest, he was released on
$35,000 bond.

The Buffalo Bills release a short statement concerning the matter.

"We can confirm that Marshawn was arrested in California and has retained an attorney," Bills vice president of communications Scott Berchtold said. "We are in the process of trying to gather the facts and will not offer a comment while that process is ongoing."

This is not the first time Lynch has been in trouble with the law. Last summer he was the subject of a hit-and-run investigation in Buffalo. He paid a fine and did not receive any jail time.

In 2006, Lynch was targeted in a drive-by shooting in Oakland, California, however, police determined that he was a victim of mistaken identity.
