It was as if the the Super Bowl never ended when Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald stepped on to the field Sunday in Honolulu. Fitzgerald became the first player in Cardinals franchise history to win Pro Bowl MVP as he caught five passes for 81 yards and two touchdowns.
The Cardinals wide-out scored on a 46-yard pass from New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees in the second quarter, then put the NFC ahead 24-21 in the fourth quarter off a two-yard pass from Giants signal caller Eli Manning.
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson scored the NFC's other touchdown on a 10-yard third-quarter run. New York Giants kicker John Carney added three field goals.
The 44 year old Carney, became the oldest player in Pro Bowl history. He was perfect from 37, 28, and 47 yards.
Eli Manning made his Pro Bowl debut and was 8-of-14 for 111 yards. Big brother Peyton was 12-of-17 for 151 yards and a touchdown.
NFC starting quarterback Kurt Warner played only one series and was just 1-of-2 for 8 yards. For Warner, the question now is whether this was his final game in the NFL or, will he opt to continue playing at age 38?
"I don't know right now," Warner said. "Again, when I have a feeling one way or the other, I'll let everyone else know. I don't have a time frame. This is the first time right now that I am done having to think about football for a while."
