Arizona Cardinals On Thursday, the Arizona Cardinals practiced through a steady rain for most of their two hours of drills. Cards coach Ken Whisenhunt called the workout a "really good day of work" three days before the Super Bowl.
One of Arizona's concerns going into Thursday's practice was running back J.J.Arrington sore right knee. He said earlier in the day he was going to "give it a try" in an attempt to be ready for Super Bowl Sunday.
Arrington missed all of last week's practices, but went through a limited workout. The stand-out from Cal has been a key component in the Cardinals return game this season. Arrington has emerged as the Cardinals primary return man.
Unfortunately, He was forced to sit out of special-teams
"We were worried about him slipping and doing something to his knee," Whisenhunt said.
Wide receiver Anquan Boldin showed no ill effects of the strained left hamstring that kept him out of Arizona's 33-13 divisional playoff victory over Carolina. Boldin played against Philadelphia, but was held back a bit in workouts early last week.
"He looked good today and he also looked good late last week," Whisenhunt said.
The Cardinals were pleased that the rain did not affect practice all that much.
"Who knows?" Whisenhunt said. "It's not supposed to be like this on game day, but if it does rain at least we got a lot of work in with wet balls and operating on a field that is a little bit wet."
