Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore Ravens
Sunday evening when the Ravens square-off with Pittsburgh in the ACF Championship game, Baltimore has the rare chance to erase their regular failures against the Steelers with a playoff win.

The Ravens lost to Pittsburgh in week three 23-20 when Steelers kicker Jeff Reed connected on a 46-yard field goal in overtime after Baltimore rally late to tie the score at 20 with four minutes to play.

Eleven weeks later Baltimore seemed to their game with Pittsburgh in hand holding a ten point lead into the fourth quarter. Then the Steelers rallied, their comeback was capped by 4-yard touchdown pass from Ben Roethlisberger to Santinio Holmes with just 43 seconds to play.

Since then, the Ravens have won three straight including a 27-9 dominating victory over the Miami Dolphins in the Wild-Card round and a 13-10 win over the Tennessee Titans in Nashville.

Rookie quarterback Joe Flacco has been playing like a crafty veteran, though his numbers are not flashy, the Baltimore offense has shined with the former Delaware
signal caller at the helm. The Ravens offense is averaging 20 point per game in the post-season and with their defense giving up less than 10, that's a nice recipe for winning.

On that defense, Baltimore is lead by two of the finest players in the National Football League. Ray Lewis and Ed Reed two of the best at what they do. Ed Reed is up for GMC Sierra Defensive Player of the Year and Lewis, the quarterback of the defense has been giving opposing offensive coordinators fits for years.

Reed registered an NFL-best nine interceptions in 2008, including two returned for touchdowns. Reed set an NFL record with his 108-yard interception return for a touchdown in the Ravens' 36-7 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, breaking his own mark of 107-yards. Reed is difference maker, a ball-hawk that has the ability to change the complexion of a game at any given moment.

Fans have become accustomed to the Ravens and their swarming defense, but now they have a proficient offence to go with it. Baltimore is a very dangerous team, proof positive through their play in the first two rounds of the post season.
