Florida State Seminoles' safety Myron Rolle has made his decision. The three-year starter and Rhodes Scholarship winner, will not enter the 2009 NFL Draft, instead he will attend Oxford University to study medical anthropology for a year.

The 22-year old Rolle, started all but one game for the Seminoles this season, arriving late for the Nov. 22 game at Maryland after completing a Rhodes Scholar interview. He finished third on the team with 62 tackles and was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference second team.

Rolle would have been a projected first or early second round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, a position that could have landed him millions of dollars in the NFL. Rolle
has his site set on the 2010 Draft, after he finishes his studies.

"The opportunity to attend Oxford next year as a Rhodes Scholar was one that you couldn't pass up," said Rolle. "I want to be a neurosurgeon and I want to help impoverished nations build up their vaccination programs."

After his NFL career, Rolle has said he plans to attend medical school and then open a clinic for the needy in the Bahamas.

In 1965, former New Jersey Senator Bill Bradley was then arguably the best player in college basketball and also bypassed the NBA draft to study at Oxford.

Bradley went on to have a successful career with the New York Knicks. He won two NBA titles, before becoming a long-time member of the United States Senate.
