Sunday in Miami, the 2008 Comeback Player of the Year Chad Pennington and his Dolphins take on the Baltimore Ravens. Odds makers are calling the Ravens road favorites in an AFC Wild-Card Game that Miami hopes will not be another quick exit at the hands of Baltimore. NFL betting lines have the Ravens at -3.5 with the total sitting at 38.

After a 1-15 season of a year ago, Miami has won the AFC East giving them their first division title since 2000. Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington deserves a lot of the credit for Miami's turnaround. Pennington was 1-7 as a starter in 2007 with the Jets and was cut after the acquisition of Brett Favre in the off-season.

As part of a complete overhaul by vice president of football operations Bill Parcells, Pennington was brought in to run the offense. Pennington threw for 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions with the Dolphins, finishing with a career-high 3,653 yards.

"He's vital to this team, he really is," Dolphins coach Tony Sparano said. "With Chad
coming in here and doing what he's done right now and bringing a bunch of people together, these young players, what he's brought to them from a leadership standpoint."

Like the Dolphins, the Ravens' turnaround comes in part due to the success at their quarterback position. Joe Flacco was the 18th overall pick in this year's draft and was originally just expected to back up Kyle Boller. However, Boller was placed on injured reserve before the season due to a shoulder injury and Flacco became the starter.

Flacco has played like a veteran, the former University of Delaware signal caller completed 60 percent of his passes for 2,971 yards and 14 TDs with 12 interceptions leading his Ravens to an 11-5 record.

As well as Flacco has played, the Ravens have leaned on one of the league's best defenses to help guide them in the playoffs.

This one is gone to come down to Pennington and whether or not the Miami offense can do enough to win. This one will be a close, low-scoring battle that may come down to a field goal or less. Take the Dolphins and give the 3.5 points.
