Six minutes and twenty seconds into the extra period, Chargers running back Darren Sproles darted 22 yards for the winning score to beat the Colts 23-17 in an AFC wildcard game Saturday night.

For Indianapolis and the Colts, it's Peyton Manning's MVP award and nothing else. San Diego snapped Indy's nine-game winning streak a day after Manning won his third NFL Most Valuable Player award.

After tying the game with a 26 yard Nate Kaeding with just 31 seconds to play, it took San Diego only one overtime possession to punch in the winning score.

With LaDainian Tomlinson on the sideline in pain from a groin injury for most of the game, little Darren Sproles took over, rushing for 105 yards and 2 touchdowns. Sproles did it all,
between rushing, receiving, kickoff and punt return yards, the 5'6'' 181 pound back complied 328 yards, including the game winning score.

"You know, when your number is called, you have to be ready," said Sproles, who early in the game fumbled into the end zone, with the Colts recovering. "Right after that fumble, it was still kind of in my mind. "I wanted that TD back to make up for the fumble."

Sproles' TD run sent Qualcomm Stadium into a frenzy.

This was San Diego's fifth straight win. The Chargers will now have to travel to either Pittsburgh or Tennessee in next week's divisional round as one of the NFL's hottest teams.

This was the fourth time the Chargers and Colts have met in two seasons and the sixth time in last five years. San Diego has won four out of the six.
