Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals
Saturday afternoon the Cardinals host the Atlanta Falcons in Arizona's first playoff appearance in 10 years. Odds makers are calling the Cardinals slight home favorites in the opening game of Wild-Card weekend. NFL betting lines have Arizona at -1 with the total in the game sitting at 52.

Cardinals have ridden all the way to the post-season on quarterback Kurt Warner's right arm. Warner is a 2-time league MVP, and won Super Bowl MVP honors after leading the Rams to the title following the 1999 season. After several inconsistent years, the Arizona signal caller regained his old form in 2008.

With 96.9 passer rating, Warner is third in the league. His 4,583 yard and 30 touchdowns has the Cardinals offense 2nd in the NFC in total offense.

The Falcons are also here because of
the quarterback position.

Selected third overall in April's draft, Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan completed 61.1 percent of his passes for 3,440 yards and 16 touchdowns, helping Atlanta finish with seven more wins under first-year coach Mike Smith than it had last season, matching the biggest turnaround in franchise history.

Atlanta isn't just doing it through the air, in fact, the Falcons are the most balanced team (running and throwing) in the post season. Running back Michael Turner rushed for 1,699 yards and 17 touchdowns and was a runner-up for league MVP to Peyton Manning.

This is going to be a fun one to watch, but give the nod to Atlanta and a very good defense and balanced offense. Look for Turner to run all over a Cardinals rush defense that is allowing more than 110 yard per game.

Take the Falcons getting the 1 point.
