USC Trojans This year's Rose Bowl in Pasadena features two teams that had their sights set on playing for a National Championship in Miami this season but fell a little short. Odds makers are calling the Trojans heavy favorites in the battle of 11-1 teams. NCAA betting lines have UCS at -10 with the total in the game sitting at 45.
The Trojans came into the season ranked no. 1, and stayed there until being upset 27-21 by Oregon State on Sept. 25. The loss would keep USC out of the national championship game.
For the Nittany Lions, they appeared to have an inside track straight to Miami until they too were upset. Penn State was shocked by Iowa 24-23 on a last-second 31-yard field goal.
"I'm not going to hang my feelings about our work and our body
After all the BCS non-sense was figured out, both of these teams wound up in the 95th Rose Bowl game as a consolation prize.
This is going to be a very good hard fought game on both sides. The Trojans have a very powerful offense and a stout defense. USC plays well in all aspects of the game.
For the Lions they will need to figure out a way to move the ball on offense consistently to stay in this one. They will, this game is going to be closer than most so called experts think.
Take Penn State getting the 10 points, this game will be decided by the last possession.
