Michigan State running back Javon Ringer has rushed for more than 1,500 yards and 21 touchdowns. players in the nation with quarterback Matthew Stafford and running back Knowshon Moreno. Stafford threw for over 3,200 yards and 22 touchdowns while Moreno pounded out 1,338 yards and 16 touchdowns. The pair led an offense that averaged 32.1 points per game on 433.9 total offensive yards per contest.

On the other side of the ball, both of these teams had particularly average seasons. The Spartans have allowed 21.9 points per game and gave up more than 357 yards per game.

Georgia's defense performed about the same giving up 25.6 points per game and 318 total yards per game.
