After losing five regular season games the LSU Tigers can call themselves defending National Champions for just a few more days. One year removed from their BCS Title run, unranked LSU prepares to take on the no. 14 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl in the Georgia Dome.

Odds makers are calling the Yellow Jackets favorites in what should amount to a home game for Georgia Tech as they hope to get to 10 wins in 2008. NCAA betting lines have the Yellow Jackets at -4 with the total in the game sitting at 54.

The Tiger lost five regular season games for the first time since losing eight in 1999. It was a painful fall from there success of a season ago.

"We came into the season with high hopes and high goals, and we kind of had a disappointing season," running back Charles Scott said. "We're looking at this bowl game as
a chance to go out on a high note and give these seniors a positive last memory at LSU. Also, it gives you some momentum going into the next season."

Before this year, Georgia Tech had lost five or more games in seven straight seasons. However, first-year head coach Paul Johnson has come in and produced immediate results.

His spread option offense produced the nation's third-best rushing attack, and a defensive front anchored by senior Michael Johnson helped lead the Yellow Jackets to within a tie-breaker from playing for an ACC Title.

This could be one of the biggest games of Johnson's career.

"I think it's an exclamation point for this season," he said. "(It) can be a springboard into next season as well."

LSU is backing in to this one and Georgia Tech seems to be moving in the right direction. Don't be surprised if this is a blow-out. Take Georgia Tech and give the 4 points.
