Missouri Tigers Monday night in San Antonio, no. 21 Missouri Tigers square-off with the no. 23 Northwestern Wildcats in the 2008 Alamo Bowl. Though Missouri is just two spots ahead of Northwestern in the BCS standing, odds makers are calling the Tigers heavy favorites in San Antonio's version of Monday Night Football. NCAA betting lines have Missouri at -12.5 with the total in this one sitting at 66.
Missouri will be trying to get their tenth win and accomplish double digit victories in consecutive seasons for the first time in school history and erase the sour taste of late-season defeats to Kansas and Oklahoma.
"Every team wants to go out with a win, especially after we lost those last two games," said Tigers tight end Chase Coffman. "One of the steps in becoming an elite program
Missouri quarterback Chase Daniel grew up near Dallas and is looking forward to playing his final college game in San Antonio in front of a large group of friends and family.
"It's something that I like to do and obviously I have a lot of family down here just as every other Texas player is going to have," Daniel said. "It's an exciting time. I have played in this stadium a lot so I'm familiar with it and hopefully just come out with a win."
Daniel threw for more than 4,100 yards and 37 touchdowns this season and Missouri has been a scoring machine in 2008. Look for the Tigers to do much of the same against Northwestern on Monday. Missouri is just too talented for the Wildcats to compete in this one.
Take the Missouri Tiger and give the 12.5 points.
