Sunday afternoon the Dallas Cowboys head to Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia to take on the Eagles in a game that could make or break both of these teams' seasons. Odds makers are calling the Eagles slight home favorites against their division rival. NFL betting lines have Philadelphia at -1.5 with the total in the contest sitting at 40.5.
For the visiting Cowboys their playoff outlook is pretty simple, win and they will earn a spot in the post-season. The only other unlikely way they could get in is if they were to tie in Philadelphia, not so crazy to think about considering who they are playing. There are many other scenarios, but basically if they were to tie, two out of three of the Bears, Vikings or Buccaneers would have to lose.
For the Eagles, they need a little more to happen. Philadelphia must win against the Cowboys, the Buccaneers and either Minnesota or Chicago would have to lose.
When these two teams met back in September, the lead went back and forth seven times as the Cowboys came away with the 41-37 victory in a shootout. Dallas quarterback Tony Romo threw for 312 yards and three touchdowns and the Cowboys offense looked unstoppable.
A lot has happened since then. With both of these teams fighting for their playoff lives, this one should be a little different this time around. Both defenses are playing extremely well and even with the resurgence of Romo and Donovan McNabb, the score should be a little more docile.
Look for the Eagles to get the win in this one. The swarming Eagles defense should be in Romo's face all day long. Take Philadelphia and give the 1.5 points at home.
