Motor City Bowl Odds - FAU Owls vs Central Michigan Chippewas

FAU Owls Friday night in Detroit, the Florida Atlantic Owls face off against the Central Michigan Chippewas in the Motor City Bowl. Odds makers are calling the Chippewas favorites in a game that has all the makings of being a shoot-out. NCAA betting lines have Central Michigan at -7 with the total in the game sitting at 69.
A season ago, the Chippewas lost the 2007 Motor City Bowl 51-48 to Purdue on a last-second field goal.
In their last regular season game Central Michigan lost a heartbreaker 56-52 to an Eastern Michigan Eagles team that won only three games all year. Eagles quarterback Andy Schmitt threw for 516 yards and five touchdowns.
"We ran into a great quarterback having the game of his life," said Central Michigan coach Butch Jones. "We've had
Florida Atlantic's last game against Florida International was just as exciting. The Owls won 57-50 in overtime.
"I've been in this game for a long, long time," said 74-year-old FAU coach Howard Schnellenberger. "But I've never seen anything like that game. I would have never believed that you could have a 50-50 tie after 60 minutes of football."
These two teams are both carried by dynamic offenses lead outstanding quarterbacks.
This season, Central Michigan's Dan LeFevour has thrown for 2,531 yards and 19 touchdowns, while Florida Atlantic's Rusty Smith has put up 2,919 yards and 22 touchdowns.
Both of these teams are going to put up some serious points. There will be a lot of scoring in this one. Take the over 69 points.
