Washington Redskins With quarterback Donovan McNabb playing his best football in years, it is not a surprise that the Philadelphia Eagles are making a serious push for the final NFC playoff spot.
Sunday afternoon, the Eagles head to Washington to take on the Redskins for the next step in their improbable run at the postseason. Odds makers are calling the Eagles road favorites in Landover, Maryland. NFL betting lines have Philadelphia at -5 with the total in the game set at 37.
At 8-5-1, the Eagles will be looking to win their fourth straight against the struggling Redskins. Since the infamous benching in Baltimore, Philadelphia's signal caller has thrown for 741 yards and seven touchdowns over three game stretch. McNabb threw for 290 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Monday's 30-10 win over Cleveland.
Philadelphia has been
"For me to be used as the guy to motivate other guys, I really don't think that was needed, but I guess we've all seen what happened and have learned from it and moved on," McNabb said. "I think, in light of it, I guess we're all playing well together."
The Redskins started the year going 6-2 in the first half, but have since fallen apart. Now at 7-7 and out of any playoff consideration, Washington looks to play spoiler to their NFC East rival.
To do so, the Redskins will need to step up their play after a poor performance last week. Washington lost 20-13 to the Cincinnati Bengals in game in which the Redskins were hard pressed to find many positives. Washington's play prompted coach Jim Zorn to say he felt like "the worst coach in America."
If his team continues to play like this, he may be right. Take the Eagles and give the 5 points.
