Colorado State Rams
Saturday afternoon the Fresno State Bulldogs head to Albuquerque to take on the Colorado State Rams in the New Mexico Bowl. Odds makers are calling the Bulldogs favorites in this exciting early bowl game. NCAA betting lines have Fresno State at -2.5 with the total in the game sitting at 60.

Now that Bulldogs coach Jim Hill has removed his name from consideration for the Washington Huskies head coaching vacancy, Fresno State can focus on the Rams.

The Bulldogs are coming off a disappointing loss in the regular season finale to Boise State 61-10. In fact, Fresno State has lost three of their final five games and need to re-group for the bowl game.

"At this time," said Hill about his focus. "It's in the best interest of my players and the Fresno State program that I withdraw
from consideration and put my full attention on preparing for a bowl game and getting our team ready for the 2009 season."

For the Rams and first-year coach Steve Fairchild getting the team to a bowl game after a three year absence from the post season is a nice accomplishment. They will not have any problems being focuses.

"We still have a lot of work to do here at Colorado State," said Fairchild. "But this is obviously a step in the right direction, and a tremendous reward for our 17 seniors, who've worked extremely hard during their time here in Fort Collins."

The Rams are looking for their first postseason win since 2001 when they defeated North Texas 45-20 in the New Orleans Bowl. Colorado State became bowl-eligible by winning its final two games.

Look for the Rams to stay hot, take Colorado State getting the 2.5 points.
