Wake Forest vs Navy The college football bowl season kicks off Saturday in our nation's capital with the EagleBank Bowl. The Wake Forest Demon Deacons face off with the Navy Midshipmen. Odds makers are calling the Demon Deacons slight favorites in RFK Stadium. NCAA betting lines have Wake Forest at -2.5 with the total sitting at 43.5.

The Demon Deacons will be heading into D.C. with revenge on their minds as the Midshipmen bested Wake in their meeting back in September 24-17. Wake Forest had a promising beginning to start the season 3-0, but after beating Florida State on September 20th, the Demon Deacons loss to Navy the following week sent them into a tailspin.

Wake Forest lost three out of their next four including conference loses to Miami (FL) and Maryland.

"Navy is a great
football team and they're going to give us fits again," said Wake Forest coach Jim Grobe. "They run the wishbone and the option as well as anyone in the country. They're playing great defense right now."

For Navy, the victory gave them a huge lift. The Midshipmen went on the win five of their final seven games, including impressive victories over Northern Illinois and Army by a combined 50-0 score to close the regular season.

Navy comes into Saturday's match-up with Wake having not allowed a point since mid-November. Also, with an average of 298.3 yards per game the Midshipmen led the nation in rushing.

Wake Forest is backing in to this game having lost five of their final nine games. Navy should be able to control this one with a strong run game and stifling defense. Take the Midshipmen getting the 2.5 points.
