Colts vs Lions
Colts vs Lions
The next step in Detroit's quest to avoid making history as the only team ever to go 0-16 will take them through Indianapolis this week. This one will not be easy. Odds makers are calling the Colts heavy favorites in Lucas Oil Stadium against the win-less Lions. NFL betting lines have the Colts at -17 with the total sitting at 45.

It probably would have been nice for the Lions if this was a meaningless game for the Colts. However, with the Tennessee Titans having the AFC South locked up and Colts fighting for a wild-card berth, Indianapolis will not be looking past this game with Detroit.

"The first thing is you have to get in the playoffs," Colts coach Tony Dungy said. "If we get in, I think we'll have as good a shot as anyone."

Quarterback Peyton Manning and the Colts offense is back to form after
struggling to find their rhythm early in the season, however, the scariest thing about the Colts lately has been the play of the defense.

A week ago against the Bengals, Indy held Cincinnati to just 252 total yards after limiting Cleveland to 193 the previous week. The Colts have given up just 9 point in the last two games and have allowed just 4 passing touchdowns against them all season.

For the Lions, they will start Dan Orlovsky under center after Daunte Culpepper suffered a shoulder injury last week. Orlovsky was the starter before suffering a broken thumb and prompting the free-agent signing of Culpepper.

Culpepper or Orlovsky? It won't matter, this Lions team is going to go 0-16 and that is hard to do in this league.

As for this week, take the Colts and give the 17 points, they will likely be up by that much at the end of the first quarter.
