New York Jets In a huge AFC East match-up, the Buffalo Bills head to the Meadowlands to take on the New York Jets in a game with serious playoff implications. Odds makers are calling the more than a touchdown favorite at home against the Bills. NFL betting lines have New York at -7.5 with the total sitting at 41.
Just three short weeks ago the Jets sat alone atop the AFC East standings and had their sights set on a possible no. 2 seed in the AFC. However, after two straight losses, at 8-5, New York might need to win out just to make the postseason at all.
Since beating Tennessee 34-13 in Nashville and separating themselves from the rest of the division, the Jets have dropped back to back games, 34-17 at home to Denver, followed by last week's 24-14 defeat at San Francisco.
"I didn't expect us to lose the last two games," said Jets quarterback Brett Favre. "But I don't know if too
Favre is ranked fourth in the conference with 20 touchdown passes, however, the future Hall of Famer hasn't thrown one in his last nine quarters.
This mini-collapse has Jets fans concerned but this is not as bad as what Bills fans have had to deal with.
After starting the season 4-0, Buffalo has lost 7-of-9 and is all but out of the playoff picture.
"We're extremely disappointed. It's unacceptable to be in this position after a 5-1 start," chief operating officer Russ Brandon said. "This was a season in which we had to take the next step, and nobody in this organization is happy."
Look for the Jets to break out of their funk and get the win at home. Take New York and give the 7.5 points.
