Dallas Cowboys Sunday afternoon two of the NFL's best will face-off in Pittsburgh when the Steelers host the Dallas Cowboys. After making a statement with a 33-10 victory in New England last week, odds makers are calling the Steelers home favorites. NFL betting odds have Pittsburgh at -3 with the total sitting at 38.5.
The 9-3 Steelers have won three in a row and are riding high primarily due to the play of their defense. Pittsburgh boasts the league top rated defense. They are no. 1 against the rush, the pass and total defense, allowing just 238 yards per game. The Steelers have given up a mere 14.2 points per game.
On the other side of the ball, Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger tossed two touchdowns last week against the Patriots for the first time since October 19th. Roethlisberger's decision-making has also improved. The Steelers signal caller threw seven interceptions in three games from Oct. 26-Nov. 9, but
At 8-4, the Cowboys have also been playing extremely well. Since Dallas quarterback Tony Romo has returned from injury, the Cowboys have won three straight. He was 22-of-34 for 331 yards on Thanksgiving Day in a 34-9 rout of Seattle that now has Dallas tied with Atlanta for the NFC's second wild-card spot.
"We had a rough patch and we're still not out of it," Romo said. "We've still got to go forward and keep putting together wins to get in the playoffs."
A key match-up to watch for this week will be Dallas linebacker DeMarcus Ware against the Steelers pass protection. Ware leads the NFL with 15 sacks, while the Steelers have given up 33 sacks, tied for second-most in the league. He sprained his left knee late against Seattle, and wasn't expected to practice most of the week, but is probable for Sunday.
This should be a great game to watch. Take the Steelers at home and give the 3 points. Pittsburgh wins 17-10.
