Minnesota Vikings The Vikings have a chance to take the lead in the NFC North when they head to Ford Field in Detroit on Sunday to take on the win-less Lions. Odds makers are calling Minnesota double digit favorites on the road. NFL betting odds have the Vikings at -10 with the total sitting at 45.5.
Coming off two straight wins Minnesota appears to be peaking at the right time as they are finishing out the season. The Vikings can't afford a letdown against the Lions, so expect them to unleash running back Adrian Peterson and one of the leagues strongest rushing attacks against a Detroit team that gives up more rushing yards than any other team in the NFL.
At 7-5, the Vikings have the NFL's fourth best rushing offenses, gaining 141.3 yards per game on the ground. Minnesota has dominated the ground game on both sides of the ball. The Vikings boast the league's no. 2 rushing defense, allowing
That defense will likely take a big if suspended defensive lineman Kevin and Pat Williams are deemed ineligible to play.
Kevin and Pat were among six NFL players suspended for four games Tuesday for testing positive for a banned diuretic, which can be used as a masking agent for steroids. However, this Wednesday a Minnesota judge issued a temporary restraining order this week blocking their league suspensions and they will likely be in the line-up Sunday.
For the Lions, not much has gone right this season. On Thanksgiving Day, Tennessee embarrassed Detroit 47-10, holding the Lions to a season-low 154 yards total offense. The Titans scored 28 points in the first 15:40 to put the game out of reach early.
Sunday, this one should not be an issue for Minnesota. They will control the clock and Adrian Peterson should have one of his best days of the season. Take the Vikings and give the 10 points.
