Sooners Fans The Bowl Championship Series standing have been released and Texas' victory against the Sooners in October wasn't enough for the Longhorns.
As expected, the Alabama Crimson Tide is first in the standing. However the big question was who would be ranked the highest between the Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns.
The BCS has spoken and the Sooners lock down the no. 2 spot with the Longhorns coming in at no. 3. This means Oklahoma will go to the Big 12 Championship and represent the South against Missouri. The Sooners, who lost to Texas 45-35 in October, barely edged the Longhorns with a .9351 BCS average to Texas' BCS average of .9223.
"Going into the last couple of weeks, we knew that a good team was going to be left out of the Big 12 championship. Unfortunately, in this situation, it was us," Texas coach Mack Brown said in a statement. "It is what it is. We don't like it, we don't agree with
Oklahoma was ahead of Texas in the coach's poll and the Longhorns were ahead in the Harris poll. The computer ratings preferred the Sooners and that made the difference.
The Florida Gators stomped the Florida State Seminoles 45-15 and are in the no. 4 spot. Out west the USC Trojans beat Notre Dame 38-3 in a game that didn't see the Fighting Irish record a first down in the entire first half. The Trojans are no. 5.
Rounding out top 10; the Utah Utes find themselves ranked no. 6. The Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Penn State Nittany Lions are 7 and 8. Boise State is no. 9 and the Ohio State Buckeyes are in the 10 spot.
The winner of the SEC Championship Game between the Crimson Tide and Gators is virtually guaranteed a spot in the BCS national title game in Miami. If the Sooners can take care of Missouri in the Big 12 Championship game, they should be heading to Miami as well.

I really don't think the Sooners should be the team to represent the South. I'm a football fan for forty years an when there is a tide #2 or # 3 which in this case the Sooners.#3. I believe second is second an when second has beat the third place then second should go forward. What I see here is a popularity vote which coach likes what team. An believe me many have there favorites no matter what.
