Saturday night in Stillwater the Cowboys host the Sooners in a game that will contribute heavily in determining this year's Big 12 South champion and perhaps a spot in the Bowl Championship Series title game.
Odds makers are calling Oklahoma a road favorite in what they call "The Bedlam Series." NCAA betting lines have the Sooners at -7 with the total sitting at 75.
The Sooners forced a three-way tie atop the Big 12 South Division with Texas and Texas Tech with a 65-21 victory over the Red Raiders last Saturday.
"Obviously, now we're in the mix with everybody with the way we played," said Sooners coach Bob Stoops. "The logic of whether to put us in front of Texas? If you can't do that because they beat us, then you've got to keep Texas Tech in front of Texas. What's logical for one is logical for the other."
If all three teams win their respective games this weekend, the Big 12 will use the BCS standings to determine the South Division champion and they will play No. 12 Missouri in the Big 12 title game.
Oklahoma State has no chance at winning the division or playing for a Big 12 crown. However, a victory over the Sooners in this 104-year-old rivalry would make them an attractive 10-win team to bowls, as well as keep the Cowboys' hopes alive of posting the first 11-win season in school history.
"We're still working towards our goals of doing something special this year," said Cowboys' linebacker Seb Clements. "That's what we set out to do, so it is a big game and another opportunity to play in the big spotlight."
The Cowboys will surely compete in this one, but the Sooners will pull away late. Take Oklahoma and give the 7 points.
