West Virginia Mountaineers Friday afternoon the West Virginia Mountaineers head to Heinz Field to take on the Pittsburgh Panthers. Odds makers are call the Mountaineers slight road favorites as they head into this one. NCAA betting odds have West Virginia at -3 with the total sitting at 49.
The Mountaineers have come back to life after some early season struggles and is riding high off of a 35-21 win over Louisville. Against the Cardinals, quarterback Pat White ran for 200 yards and three touchdowns to give him a record setting 4,292 yards for his career. The mark broke the record of 4,289 set by former Missouri quarterback Brad Smith from 2002-05.
White does not seem to be concerned with the record.
"When
Pitt is coming off a tough 28-21 loss to Cincinnati. The Panthers gave up more than 300 yards through the air in the defeat.
"We could not make a play on that quarterback," Pitt coach Dave Wannstedt said. "He was incredible. I give him credit. We couldn't get him down. He made some great throws."
After starting 5-1, the Panther have lost two out of there last four including the loss to Cincinnati and a crushing 54-34 defeat to Rutgers on October 25.
With all the momentum West Virginia will be carrying into this one, they will be hard to beat. Take the Mountaineers and give the 3 points.
