Miami Dolphins
Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins have owned the Patriots in South Florida games, holding a 32-10 overall advantage. But New England won 49-28 at Dolphin Stadium last season. The last time out, in Foxboro, Dolphins got some revenge when beat the Patriots on Sept. 21 in what was at the time the season's most stunning upset.

This week, odds makers are calling the Patriots a slight road favorite as these two face off in Dolphin Stadium. NFL betting lines have New England at -1 with the total sitting at 42.

Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington doesn't have great stats, but so far when Miami needed clutch drives against Buffalo, Denver, Seattle and Oakland, he delivered. Pennington has thrown for 2,374 yards and eight touchdowns to just five interceptions since joining his new team. The Fins signal caller has found some chemistry with receiver Ted Ginn Jr. connecting on 18 passes in the past four games for a 17-yard average.

The Patriots are looking to bounce back
from their disappointing loss to the New York Jets last Thursday night. Despite the loss, quarterback Matt Cassel threw for 400 yards and three touchdowns against New York. In the Dolphins and Patriots first meeting in September, Cassel was awful, however since taking over for Pro-bowler Tom Brady in week one, Cassel has gotten better and better.

On the ground, the Patriots rushing attack is averaging 132.2 yards per game and ranks 3rd in the AFC. With their running back by committee approach, the Patriots have had five players rush for 100 yards or more this season. The Dolphins rush defense has been good overall statistically, but has been inconsistent at times.

Defensively the Pats look to be more prepared then the last time these two met. In September the Dolphins ran all over the Patriots using the Wild-cat offense to gain 216 yard on the ground.

Look for Patriots coach Bill Belichick to have his team motivated and well prepared against the team that embarrassed them last time out. Take the Patriots and give the 1 point on the road.
