Miami Hurricanes The Miami Hurricanes have moved into the Top 25 for the first time in more than two years and are looking to move closer to securing the ACC Coastal Division title as they visit the Yellow Jackets on Thursday night.
At 7-3 overall and 4-2 in the ACC, the 23rd ranked Canes head to Bobby Dodd Stadium to take on Georgia Tech. Odds makers are calling the Yellow Jackets slight favorites at home. NCAA betting lines have Georgia Tech at -3.5 with the total sitting at 41.
Miami coach Randy Shannon is downplaying his team's return to the polls. "It really doesn't matter," Shannon said. The Hurricanes head man knows how quickly a team can drop right out if they do not continue to play well.
The Hurricanes can wrap up the division title this weekend with a couple of different scenarios, but
"We still feel like it's us against the world," said Canes running back Javarris James. "People will look at us and some at the beginning of the season probably thought we'd have a disappointing season. We're just worried about the guys in our locker room and we're going to continue to do the things that got us here."
Georgia Tech is coming off their worst offensive showing, committing three turnovers in their 28-7 loss to North Carolina on November 8.
"We're awful on offense, from my expectation level," Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson said. "I promise you, we can be a lot better and we will get a lot better."
It's not going to get any easier against a Hurricanes team that has won five in a row. Take Miami getting the 3.5 points on the road.
