San Francisco 49ers
With both of these two teams at 2-7 and a little over half of the season in the books. The 49ers and the Rams are just trying to salvage something positive out of 2008. Odds makers are calling San Francisco a home favorite as they face-off at Candlestick Park. NFL betting lines have the 49ers at -6.5 with the total sitting at 43.5.

Last week against the Cardinals, Allen Rossum's 104-yard opening kickoff return gave San Francisco a lead it wouldn't relinquish until late in the fourth quarter. But as they had done in their previous five games, the 49ers lost as fullback Michael Robinson was stuffed at the 2-yard line as time expired in the 29-24 defeat.

"That was definitely one of the most frustrating losses I can remember in my 15 or 16 years playing football," San Francisco center Eric Heitmann said.

One of the most frustrating things to 49ers fans was
that Robinson was used instead of Pro Bowl running back Frank Gore.

"I think Coach Martz felt that there would be a cavity inside, so he made the call," said San Francisco coach Mike Singletary. "So you've got to live with the result."

At the very least the 49ers were in there last game until the very end, the Rams on the other hand were embarrassed by the Jets a week ago.

St Louis quarterback Marc Bulger was just 6-of-13 for 65 yards and an interception before he was pulled in favor of back-up Trent Green in their 47-3 loss to New York.

"We are not getting the job done on offense and that falls on the quarterback," Bulger said. "Whether I have to throw it 60 times next week or 30 or back up, whatever it takes to help our team win, I'm willing to take that role."

The 49ers seem to be on the verge of something positive, while the Rams are in a downward spiral. Take San Francisco and give the 6.5 points.
