Mississippi State Bulldogs Saturday night the Mississippi State Bulldogs head to Tuscaloosa to face-off with the Alabama Crimson Tide. Odds makers have the no. 1 ranked Crimson Tide as double digit favorites at home against the Bulldogs. College football betting lines list Alabama at -22 with the total sitting at 40 1/2.
The top-ranked Crimson Tide look to avoid a third consecutive loss to visiting Mississippi State and will try to remain unbeaten en route to the BCS title game.
With an emotional 27-21 overtime victory at LSU last Saturday, Alabama at 10-0 overall and 6-0 in the SEC clinched its first division title since 1999. Now, the Crimson Tide will try to avenge 2007 losses to Mississippi State and the struggling Auburn Tigers before facing the Florida Gators in the SEC title game Dec. 6.
"We are at about 19,000 feet," Tide coach Nick Saban
The Bulldogs come in hoping to catch Alabama in a let-down game having lost two straight SEC games since beating then-no. 13 Vanderbilt 17-14 on Oct. 11, Mississippi State has been outscored 128-48 while going 0-4 on the road this season.
"We certainly have a lot of respect for how the Bulldogs have played against us and how we need to play and improve as a team, so we can play well against them," Saban said.
Mississippi State has had two weeks to prepare for Alabama after falling 14-13 to Kentucky. The Bulldogs will be pulling everything out of coach Croom's bag of tricks as he heads home to his native Tuscaloosa.
The Bulldogs will need some magic to will this one. Alabama should not have any trouble with Mississippi State. Take the Crimson Tide and give the 22 points.
