Thursday night Brett Favre and the New York Jets head to Foxboro to take on the New England Patriots in this battle of AFC East leaders. Odds makers are calling the Patriots a slight favorite at home as the Jets try to dethrone mighty Pats. NFL betting lines have New England at -3 with the total sitting at 42 1/2.

The Patriots try to contain Favre and the surging Jets' offense on Thursday night in a match-up for the division lead.

The 6-3 Jets have are coming off the most-lopsided victory in their history, as they take the strap on the cleats again just four days after a 47-3 drubbing of St. Louis. This week won't be so easy, when they face-off against the Patriots, a team that has beaten the Jets in 13 of their last 16 match-ups.

"This is a huge game," said running back Thomas Jones. "It's a divisional rival, first of all. It has a lot of implications as far as who's going
to be in sole possession of first place in the division, which leads into other things as the season goes along. It's a really big game for us and we really look forward to it."

Jones gained 149 yards and had three TDs on 26 carries against the Rams.

New England, also at 6-3 earned a key division win last Sunday over the Buffalo Bills by controlling the clock for nearly 38 minutes and outgaining the Bills 370-168 en route to a 20-10 victory. Matt Cassel continued to show improvement, completing 23 of 34 passes for 234 yards and running for a touchdown for the second straight week.

Since the Jets 19-10 loss to New England in week 2, the Jets have gone 5-2 and won their last three games as their offense is really starting to grow. New York is averaging 32.1 points over its last seven contests, and their 255 points lead the AFC.

Look for New York to stay on a roll and win on the road. Take the Jets getting the 3 points.
