Jaguars vs Lions
Sunday afternoon the Detroit Lions host the Jacksonville Jaguars at Ford Field. Odds makers are calling the win-less Lions a 6 1/2 point underdog at home against the 3-5 Jags.

Looking at the Jaguars schedule a few weeks back one might say that this stretch of games should help Jacksonville get back in the thick of things in the AFC. Things did not go as planned last week. They lost to winless Cincinnati and will try to avoid losing to a second straight winless team when they take on the 0-8 Lions.

Sunday is a must-win for Jacksonville. The Jaguars had high hopes entering this season after advancing to the AFC divisional round of the playoffs last year. After losing to the Browns 23-17 on October 26th, and then the Bengals 21-19 last Sunday,
the post-season is beginning to look like a fantasy.

Jacksonville's lack of success can be attributed to an inconsistent running attack. Running back Maurice Jones-Drew has held to only 33 yards on 10 carries against a terrible Bengals run defense. The Jags are averaging more than 175 yards on the ground in their wins and only 70 in their losses.

The Lions quarterback Dan Orlovsky had a pretty good day against the Bears last week, throwing for 292 yards and two touchdowns. However, Orlovsky did sprain the thumb on his throwing hand in the loss which opens things up for Daunte Culpepper to make his first start of the season.

The Jaguars are desperate; Jacksonville coach Jack Del Rio will have his team motivated and ready to play. Take the Jags and give the 6 1/2 points on the road.
