Texas Tech Red Raiders Saturday afternoon the 9th ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys head to Lubbock to take on 2nd ranked Texas Tech one week after the Red Raiders last second victory over Texas. Odds makers are calling Texas Tech a single digit favorite at home in Jones SBC Stadium. College football betting lines have the Red Raiders at -3.5 with the total sitting at 69.
Off to a 9-0 start, Texas Tech has steadily climbed the rankings, but until a week ago they didn't figure in the BCS title picture. That is, until last week’s victory over then-ranked no. 1 Texas.
To stay in the national championship conversation, the Red Raiders can't afford a letdown against another elite Big 12 South opponent as they face-off with the Cowboys.
Now the Red Raiders are faced with the challenge of moving on
"You worry," said Texas Tech coach Mike Leach. "We've done a pretty good job this year, just trying to keep everybody in perspective. Now the biggest game in history is Oklahoma State, or the history of this year, anyway."
Big-12 coaches have done a lot of worrying this season as the conference has proven to be one of, if not the strongest in the NCAA.
"When I was playing in the Big Eight, there were going to be two or three teams that would maybe be in the Top 25 in our league," said Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy. "As a coach, I can't remember playing this many teams from one division that have been ranked in the top 10."
This is going to be a great game, maybe the game of the year. Take the Red Raiders and give the 3.5 points at home.
