Saturday the Texas Longhorns look to get back on the winning track as they face-off with Baylor when the Bears come to town. Odds makers are calling the Longhorns a 28 point favorite with the total sitting at 61.

If not for a last-second play against Texas Tech, the Longhorns would be rejoicing over surviving a brutal stretch of games that saw Texas face four consecutive teams ranked 11th or better.

"Losing right now after we've done so much, it hurts," Texas defensive tackle Roy Miller said. "But we're going to fight. The good thing is these guys don't quit."

Texas coach Mack Brown isn't blaming anything on his team's schedule, past or future.

"It's an excuse. A schedule's a schedule,"
he said. "I mean, you've got to play. It's the hand we were dealt and we got to step up to it and handle it."

Texas just needs to stay focused against a Baylor team that has proved itself more than capable of hanging with the elite teams of the Big 12. Last Saturday, the Bears pulled into a 28 all tie with Missouri five minutes into the fourth quarter before falling 31-28.

"It was a very emotional, very devastating non-win," first-year coach Art Briles said, refusing to utter the word loss. "I am extremely proud of our players for their energy, for their belief, for their effort."

After the loss to Tech, the Longhorns should be playing with a bit of a chip on their shoulder and out to prove something. Take Texas and give the 28 points.
