Thursday night the Maryland Terrapins head to Blacksburg to take on the Hokies of Virginia Tech. Odds makers are calling Virginia Tech a 3 point favorite at home with the total sitting at 41.

The No. 23 Terps will be trying to hold onto first place in the ACC Atlantic Division on Thursday night when they visit Virginia Tech. Both teams are coming off bye weeks has provided some needed rest for key injured players.

At 6-2, Maryland is focused on the status of running back Da'Rel Scott’s injured his shoulder. The Terrapins top rusher originally hurt the shoulder on Sept. 13 against California and aggravated the injury against NC State on Oct. 25.

Scott rushed for 163 yards against the Wolfpack. He had top 100 yards for the first time since he
ran for 123 yards and one score against Middle Tennessee on Sept. 6.

"I see Da'Rel maturing on almost a daily basis," coach Ralph Friedgen said. "I see him turning into a leader on our team."

At the quarterback position, the 5-3 Hokies lost starter Tyrod Taylor and backup Sean Glennon in a 30-20 loss to Florida State on Oct. 25. Seldom-used fifth-year senior Cory Holt took over and went 3-for-6 for 28 yards and a 4-yard touchdown pass to Andre Smith in the fourth quarter.

"He had been working as a wide receiver all week," coach Frank Beamer said of Holt. "It's a credit to him that he came in and made a couple of plays, battled, picked up a nice first down, made a nice throw, did a nice job."

With so much uncertainty under center to the Hokies, take the Terrapins getting the 3 points on the road.
