Tennessee enters Saturday's match-up with South Carolina at 3-5 with losses to rivals Florida, Alabama, and Georgia. The Volunteers are in desperate need of a SEC road win but it won't be easy against a tough South Carolina team. Odds makers say the Gamecocks are 6 point favorites at home against the Vols.

Tennessee owns a 21-3-2 series edge over South Carolina. However, four of the last five games have been decided by seven points or less.

"We have lost to them some," South Carolina linebacker Eric Norwood said. "But we can't look at it like that."

South Carolina is 5-3 and had won four in a row before losing to LSU on October 18th. Things could be a little easier against the struggling
Volunteers.

Tennessee coach Phil Fulmer and the Vols need another jump start this season. At 3-5 overall, the Volunteers could face their second losing record in the past four seasons.

"We're in the age of instant gratification and what have you done lately. I understand that," Fulmer said earlier this week. "Hopefully we can give everyone good encouragement about winning and what we're going to do in the future, with how we play."

The South Carolina Gamecocks should win this game. However, the key word is "should". Tennessee always plays the Gamecocks tough and with four of the last five games between these two being decided by seven points or less, take the Volunteers getting six points. This one will come down to a late field goal.
