Texas Longhorns
Saturday afternoon the no. 1 ranked Texas Longhorns host the no. 7 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys in Austin. Odds makers have the Longhorns as a 12 1/2 point favorite with the total sitting at 67.

The 7-0 Longhorns coasted through the first five games of their schedule staying under the radar. However, since knocking off then ranked no. 1 Oklahoma and then Missouri a week ago, Texas has burst into the national spotlight and are now the first unanimous no.1 team in the nation since Ohio State in 2006.

"We're playing at a high level, but we're not a great team yet," said Texas coach Mack Brown. "We've got to be a great team for 60 minutes for the next five weeks to get us the chance to play in the Big 12 championship game, which is what we want."

Brown has been warning his players against believing all the things being said and written
about them, and they seem to be getting the message.

"I believe we're good. I don't believe we're great," defensive tackle Lamarr Houston said. "I don't think you determine who is great until the end of the year."

The Cowboys 7-0 are off to their best start since going 9-0 in 1945. Oklahoma State was unranked coming into the season, but has now climbed to their best ranking since 1985.

"Any time you're on a national stage and you've had a little success, I think it lends itself to give kids a little more confidence than they normally have," says Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Gunter Brewer. "You feel good when you're winning, and that's a good thing."

Both of these teams have been able to dial up a recipe for winning in 2008. The Longhorns can't possibly stay on this roll of dominating good teams. Texas wins, but does not cover the 12 1/2 points. Take the Cowboys on the road.
