The Cleveland Browns have made significant progress in their efforts to get back to the elite of the NFL. Now they must show that they are capable of taking that progress to the next level.

The Browns are coming off a season where their quarterback had a break out year. Derek Anderson came out of nowhere to take the starting spot away from Brady Quinn. He had such a strong year that Quinn is now a backup to Anderson.

The Browns had one of the best offenses in the league with the emergence of Braylon Edwards as one of the best wide receivers in
the league. They also will have Kellen Winslow Jr. back this year.

The defense was suspect last year, which is shy this team did not make the playoffs. They still were within one game of winning the division over the Steelers.

In order to get to that elite level, the offense will once again have to produce like last year and the defense must be much better. The Steelers will also have to take a step back, which does not appear likely.

The most likely scenario for the Browns will be to play as well as last year and hope that they can slip into the playoffs as a wild card team.
